Panel 1

Daily life: I am married to a wonderfully bright entrepreneur who owns several small businesses. Together, we have two beautiful young children. I have had the opportunity to spend the majority of the last 9 years at home with my children, which is both rewarding and exhausting at the same time. Before I had my babies, I taught college composition at several community colleges as an adjunct profession. These days I teach part-time (a class or two a semester), which is a great outlet for my mental energies.

Writing: Usually, I write a lot of non-fiction, such as website content, product descriptions, product packaging content for businesses. I also write papers and presentations for my speaking engagements and the college courses I teach. Recently, I have begun to dabble more in creative writing. I wrote a short children’s book last year, and I am currently working on a YA novel.

Speaking engagements: In grad school, I wrote my Master’s Thesis on the topic of etiquette in Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice. My love for speaking and Jane Austen has since allowed me to speak at libraries, literary events, and Jane Austen groups, as well as teach Jane Austen classes for seniors through OLLI.

Reading interests: My reading interests cover a wide range of literature, both fiction and non-fiction. In the past few years, she has expanded her reading to include the fascinating and inspiring biographies of Christian leaders and missionaries in England during the 1800s/early 1900s. She enjoys serving at her church and has a passion for counseling and mentoring young women.

Faith: At the center of all I do is the Lord Jesus. I became a Christian in college and my life was changed forever. My husband and I are active members in our local church. We are committed to serving Jesus in our everyday lives, with all that we have and all that we do, and to teaching others to follow Christ as well.
